After using Wikipedia in the way it is supposed to be used I can firmly say that I feel exactly how I thought I would feel about the website. As I have talked about before in my previous blog posts about Wikipedia is not a reliable source I can say I agree. I was able to go and change a simple thing about someone’s life very easily on a topic of conversation. It was very simple and I could do it for anyone or anything. Although I would not know how fast something would get taken down if it was false or not it is very easily able to be put up on the site.

I decided to edit a post about a former high school graduate named Scotty Miller that was enrolled at my school. He was a former high school football player that was very good. He went on to play college football and then now in the NFL. I chose to edit this page because he is well known but not that well known like most players. I was friends with his sister growing up and I even have been to his house before as well. Not that any of that matters. But I chose to edit his page basically because I have a connection with him to my early high school days as I watched him play as a freshman in high school. 

I used the talk page and no one responded to me in time after typing in the chat and I could understand why as it is not a very active site people would be on as there is not a whole lot about him besides some NFL statistics about him and one or two things about his personal life. I found it a bit difficult finding sources to back up some of the things I was trying to edit that ended up not editing because of it. One of the things was his hometown. I knew from personal experience that he was from Barrington Hills, IL not just Barrington, IL but no website had him put down specifically in that town as it is a subsection part of Barrington, IL but it is a separate town technically so I decided not to do that. 

What I ended up choosing to do was to add that he had one Super Bowl win which was very odd that the page did not have that he had one super bowl title in the editing process on the article about him. So I added that he had one Super Bowl win with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I was able to source that one very easily as it was very well known. The second thing that I decided to edit was the part on his personal life because there was very little on his personal life besides Miller having a wife. I chose to add he had 3 other siblings. I knew this because I went to high school and was friends with his sister and he had 3 of them. So he was one of 4 siblings in his family. It was really easy to find that online to source and was able to add that very quickly as well.
